Judge Brett Kavanaugh nominated to fill vacancy on U.S. Supreme Court

With Justice Anthony Kennedy retiring, the U.S. Supreme Court is losing its most frequent “swing” justice. President Trump nominated circuit court Judge Brett Kavanaugh to take his place. Kavanaugh describes his judicial philosophy as following laws, not making them. Another fair justice would tip the scale farther towards letting voters have a say on abortion laws. The abortion industry believes Roe v. Wade itself is at stake.

Does Destroying the Unborn Make Us Richer?

Chelsea Clinton thinks so. In her statement at a pro-Roe v. Wade rally, she claimed that women who entered the workforce because of Roe v. Wade have added three and a half trillion dollars to our economy. Setting aside the horrifying moral implications for a moment, her economic statement is simply false. SB564 & 565 passed the House on Dec. 15, 2016

The bill passed the Senate earlier in the year.  Lt. Gov. Calley signed the bill during Gov. Snyder vacation.  The bills prohibit any money being paid to abortionists or clinics for supplying organs and tissue of aborted babies used in research.

Elective abortion removed as standard ‘benefit’ from health plans

The question of who pays for abortion insurance was answered today in Michigan. The Michigan House (62-47) and Senate (27-11) approved the citizen-initiated Abortion Insurance Opt-Out Act. The Abortion Insurance Opt-Out Act is about who desires abortion coverage and who will pay for it, not whether abortion is legal or if insurance is available.

The December 11 vote in the Michigan House and Senate is a victory for Michigan and concludes a narrative of effort by a cast of hundreds of thousands of volunteers and key leaders. Because of the dedication of many, Michigan joins 23 other states in opting-out of abortion coverage in their health insurance exchanges through the Affordable Care Act.

Life and death decisions are being made behind closed doors

Bob Tank’s story is a must-read story. Bob’s daughter, Genevieve Marnon, is part of the Right to Life of Michigan legislative team in Lansing. Bob’s hospital experience and similar stories we’ve heard recently are setting off alarm bells about how our medical systems are handling end-of-life care. Secret do-not-resuscitate orders and secret court hearings to strip caregivers from patients must never be how conflicts over medical care are handled.
